Nordic-inspired interiors have thrived for such a long time due to their inherent simple yet sophisticated character. Modern design is a part of Denmark's national identity as many of the designs of the 20th century have become archetypal icons that do not cease to amaze until today. A great number of today's Danish designers continue the tradition of sustainability, high quality and timelessness and bring a little extra to live up to the uneasy "burden" of the nation's design history. Needless to say that it is a hard task but Danish designers do not fall behind.

MALLING LIVING is an Aarhus based design studio whose founder, Rikke Malling, is a multi-talented person. Besides being a sommelier and a restaurant owner, Rikke comes from a family of architects, which brought her naturally to interior design. MALLING LIVING was founded in 2013 as a brand offering durable, timeless and effortless furniture and accessories.

Graphic lines and durable materials with raw and natural textures are almost atavistic features that are so symptomatic for Danish design. The whole MALLING LIVING accessories collection works with these principles, which makes it so easy to incorporate into any modern and a little minimalistic interior.

ACCESSORIES FROM THE MALLING LIVING COLLECTION

The RAW vase collection employs the cylindrical, somewhat organic shape along with natural looking finish in soft white and muted grey colour.

Edge candle holders made of brass or chrome offer a very minimalistic and sharp look perfect for adding an effortless décor to an interior.

Practical and highly decorative, soapstone bowls carry a wide range of uses. From just being a piece of décor on a coffee table, they are great to store everyday jewellery or even to serve little treats. The beautiful matte texture of the natural soapstone highlights the straightforward but refined quality of Scandinavian design.

The stunning matte brass finish of the serving tray pleases the eye so it can be used as a piece of decoration as well. Simply lean it on the wall or place it horizontally to create a perfect background for smaller objects. 

The tableware line offers a beautiful solution to the everyday need to serve beverages in a very stylish way. The unique shape, which perfectly fits in the palm, is an eye catcher providing an exciting twist to otherwise minimalistic shapes. The Bar glasses and the Bar decanter are made of handmade lead-free crystalline glass. The Root cups continue the elegant look of the glasses and add a little natural feeling with their soft beige texture.
